Side Chair
An item at Metropolitan Museum of Art
Low-cost “Boston” chairs were exported throughout the colonies during the 1730s and 1740s. This fine example is typical of the Queen Anne style, with its emphasis on curved, rounded forms and the interplay between solid and void.
