Chest of Drawers
An item at Metropolitan Museum of Art
The green background and the red and yellow ornamental borders are characteristic of painted furniture from the Schwaben Creek Valley in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. A recent study for the Pennsylvania German Society has determined this chest’s decoration to be unique.
