Small chest of drawers
An item at Metropolitan Museum of Art
The people, animals, and trees depicted on the front of this chest have parallels in the pastoral scenes that were popular embroidery subjects in Boston during the second quarter of the eighteenth century. On the middle drawer, a hunter follows a dog in pursuit of a stag; on the bottom drawer, a woman is serenaded by a man playing a horn.
